Returns

To return a hive simply contact us to arrange pickup or drop off.

Depending on the condition of the hive you may be issued a refund.

 

Refunds

Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item.

We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item.

If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment).

You will receive the credit within a certain amount of days, depending on your card issuer's policies.

The refund will be equivalent to the amount you paid minus the time you have already kept the hive in months at $35/Month. *

 

Fees and Charges

*Any fees and or charges owed will be subtracted from your refund.

*If the amount owed exceeds the amount payable for the returned item you will be required to pay the difference rged the excess. 

You may be charged a fee for failure to meet your obligations as the person renting the hive. **

Our fee structure is outlined below. 



$500 Failure To Provide Adequate Care
(e.g. Food, Water, Shelter). Resulting in the death or serious injury to the swarm. 

$200 Damage To Hive
Failure to protect the hive from damage including but not limited to accidental damage and damage by third parties.

Should the damage sustained to the hive also cause the warm to sustain serious injury or death then then a $500 charge may also apply

$800 Failure to return

Should you fail to return the hive or make adequate arrangements to allow us to collect the hive by the end of your rental period this charge will apply. This charge will stand even if the hive is stolen. 

 

** Your Obligations

Property requirements
- In accordance with the Apiary Code of Practice 1997 in order have 1 hive on your property, the land size must be 500 metres squared or greater.
- you may not have more than 2 hives on a standard size residential property however people on large properties may rent more hives. 
- Hives must be at least 3 metres from a boundary fence and not in the front yard unless the fence is 2 metres high
- If your address changes a minimum of 2 weeks notice is required.
- The hive must remain inside a 50Km radius of the CBD Mackay QLD. Exceptions to this rule can be made for people renting large numbers of hives (e.g. farmers).

Management of hive
- place the hive in a sheltered but sunny spot
- ensure adequate water is provided for the hive
- feed the hive with white sugar syrup in winter if necessary
- ensure the your own safety and the safety of others by wearing and using the correct protective equipment
- Do not remove honey from the hive. As part of our rental service we will provide you with honey as per the pricing scheme on our website.
- You must arrange a time that is suitable for us to service the hives at least once every 4 to 6 weeks
